Solid Waste

The Solid Waste & Recycling Department, which is a division of the Public Works Department, manages the Cromwell Transfer Station located at 100 County Line Drive. The Recycling Center Operator is responsible for the daily operation and the environmental oversight of the Transfer Station.  

The Transfer Station provides a convenient location for residents to dispose of their bulk waste and recyclables, please refer to the Rules & Regulations to see if a permit is required for your items. The Cromwell Transfer Station is for residential use only, NO commercial access will be allowed.

The Rules and Regulations are updated yearly and provided for assistance to the residents. The Regulations include a detailed list of the acceptable items allowed at the Transfer Station. There is a clothing bin and a food composting bin located at the Transfer Station. No hazardous waste or household trash/waste is accepted. 

Property owners can obtain the annual permit in the Public Works Department at Town Hall during regular business hours, acceptable payment is cash, check or money order  OR  at the Transfer Station during operating hours by check or money order. NO cash will be accepted at the Transfer Station. Passes are good through December 31st of the year purchased.
