ENERGY ASSISTANCE:
The Cromwell Senior Center acts as an intake site for energy assistance during the winter season. Please be aware that there are new document requirements that must be given every year! Liquid Assets limit. Homeowners may have up to $10,000.00 in liquid assets. Renters may have up to $7,000.00 in liquid assets.
Proof of all current monthly income (at time of applying) for all household members:
including Social Security/SSI, Pension, Monthly interest, Employment wages (last 4 pay stubs), etc
Name(s), birthdate(s), and social security number(s) of all household members.
Proof of disability for any household member (if applicable)-provide TPQY, if possible
Copy of Electric or Gas bill, if primary heat source OR Oil Company Name & copy of oil bill (if oil is primary heat source) PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR OIL COMPANY PARTICIPATES WITH THE ENERGY PROGRAM BEFORE APPLYING. PLEASE NOTE: CL&P AND YANKEE GAS BOTH PARTICIPATE IN THE ENERGY PROGRAM. HOWEVER, YOU SHOULD INQUIRE WITH EITHER OF THE UTILITY COMPANIES REGARDING THEIR "MATCHING PROGRAM" IF YOU HEAT WITH EITHER ELECTRIC OR GAS.
RENTAL ASSISTANCE:
If you qualify as a low income renter, you can receive a rebate check on your
previous year’s rent from the State of Connecticut/Office of Policy & Management.
Time to apply is between May 15 - September 15 each year for the previous rental
calendar year. Call the senior center for an appointment during this time.
HOME OWNERS TAX RELIEF PROGRAM:
