Located in Town Hall, as part of the Developmental Services Department, this office provides administrative support to the following boards and commissions: Planning and Zoning Commission; Farmland Preservation Committee; Conservation Commission; Zoning Board of Appeals;Economic Development Commission; and the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency. Staff members also provide the general public with information and assistance on all matters pertaining to land use and economic development in Cromwell.

Services provided by department staff include: promoting the establishment and growth of commercial and industrial activities in Cromwell; processing Planning and Zoning and Wetland Agency applications; preparing legal notices, agendas, correspondence, meeting minutes, and all other official records for the above-listed boards; zoning enforcement and wetlands enforcement;

Additionally, the staff provides boards with technical expertise and administrative assistance in the updating of Zoning Regulations, Subdivision Regulations, Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Regulations, and the Plan of Development.
